:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Andrea -- A great introduction to vampire lore and comics for youngins : I pre-ordered this book having been a fan of the author's previous work (Patrik the vampire web comic.) I love the art style so much. The story is very cute and I enjoyed the inclusion of traditional vampire lore. I am much older than the intended audience, but I can appreciate the message behind the story. Good book for the middle school age group as it has messages about determination, not to be judgemental, to be kind to others, making friends, and to try to be positive about others (even if they have hurt your feelings in the past). Beautifully colored and drawn as well. : I, Rich Moyer's daughter, (the ten year old) wouldn't naturally understand the logic of a garlic bulb gardening and selling its own kind, but everything is so well explained and of coarse entertaining. Also, I just love Garlic's character, and the sweet, unbreakable friendship between Garlic and Carrot. I really like this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2021 )

They then sell the items in the farmer's market. When the vampire moves into the abandoned castle, she's elected to scare him away due to a vampire's garlic allergy. But what she finds when she visits the vampire doesn't meet her expectations. I love how Garlic has to overcome her anxieties. This book is super cute, perfect for children, with spot on art.
